Discovery is a process that compels pre-trial disclosure in civil proceedings of relevant documents that are in the possession or control of another party to the proceedings, or occasionally a third party. With the profusion of computers in modern organisations, a great deal more information is being committed to electronic formats. As a result, thorough discovery can no longer be restricted to paper documents, but the huge volume of material recorded electronically raises practical and technical issues in how to conduct effective discovery.

This workshop provides timely guidance on the process of discovery and the Rules of the Superior Courts (Discovery) 2009, which provide for the discovery of electronically-stored information.
