About

Transitioning Ireland to a circular economy will have far-reaching consequences for manufacturing and lead to major changes in waste-management practices, enabling scale up of recycling and reuse of materials.

The upcoming Circular Economy Strategy will provide a national policy framework for Ireland’s transition to a circular economy. This Bill places that Strategy, and the commitment to a circular economy, on a clear statutory footing.

The Circular Economy Bill 2021 will provide a legislative basis for certain actions under the 2020 Waste Action Plan for a Circular Economy and will introduce measures to support the Circular Economy. It is a key step in the successful transition of Ireland’s economy to a circular economy and is evidence of Government’s commitment to the achievement of that goal.

This seminar will discuss what the key objectives of the Bill are and how we can drive the optimization of resources, reduce the consumption of raw materials, and recover waste by recycling.
