Implemented as part of Action 13 in the Civil Service Renewal Plan[i], the Awards event is run by the team in the Civil Service Renewal Programme Management office, led by Programme Director for the Reform and Delivery office, Dr Lucy Fallon Byrne. The Awards began in 2015, as a way to “recognise staff excellence and innovation in the Civil Service”[ii]. The winners were announced by An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny TD, and Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Paschal Donohoe TD. An Taoiseach, in speaking of the awards, said:

“The awards highlight the work and contribution of the Civil Service from teams working in the smallest frontline offices to larger project teams operating across several departments; these awards showcase the innovation, dedication and enthusiasm of civil servants to deliver a world class service to the Irish people.”

Out of 74 projects submitted, 30 were shortlisted. Full details of the shortlisted projects can be found here. Below, you can see the categories of the awards, the winning teams and the project that earned them the award.
