Course Overview 

This two-day Train the Trainer Course will give participants the tools and techniques to help them in preparing and delivering impactful training sessions to employees within their organisation.

The course will be delivered in an interactive and engaging style and will encourage candidate participation from the outset.

Prior to the course, participants will be asked to prepare a short presentation on a topic of their choice which they will deliver to the group, in person, on day two of the course.

Constructive feedback will be provided on their delivery by the facilitator and other participants. This will help individuals to refine their content and delivery and will also facilitate peer learning.

The aim of the workshop is to help eliminate fear and increase confidence around the presentation element of training.

What the course will cover:

On completion of this training course, participants will:

  • Understand the Training Cycle
  • Have knowledge of the Four Learning Styles (Honey and Mumford)
  • Understand the Learning Cycle (Kolb)
  • Know the characteristics of an Effective Trainer
  • Understand the importance of Communication in Training Delivery
  • Know how to Prepare and Deliver an impactful training course
  • Have the skills to Evaluate a Training Course (SMART / Kirkpatrick Models).

Day 1: The Theory of the Training Cycle and how to be an Effective Trainer

Day : In Person Presentations and feedback providing a hugely beneficial peer learning exercise at the end of the programme

Who should attend?

This two day programme will be of huge benefit to anyone who has to deliver presentations or training to inhouse groups or teams. It will also be of benefit for anyone who delivers training to external stakeholders either in person or online and will help improve your technique and confidence to facilitate training in a clear and comprehensive manner.

Course Tutor

Patricia Pleass is a professional Training Consultant with almost twenty years’ industry experience in Training and Development.  She started her career working in front-line customer service with Aer Lingus, progressing on to becoming a senior trainer in the Aer Lingus training centre, delivering quality customer care and safety training to front-line staff and returned to the company years later to manage cabin crew.   She is the owner of a busy preschool and holds a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Education.

During her career, our trainer has delivered training initiatives to both public and private sector organisations, including Aer Lingus, AIB, Dell and Bank of Ireland. She has delivered training programmes in areas as diverse as Customer Service, Supervisory Management, Managing People, Proactive Calling, Train the Trainer and Interpersonal Skills.
