‘A Note from the Chairperson’
‘I am extremely pleased to have been asked to chair Public Affairs Ireland’s Public Sector Corporate Governance Seminar. The Seminar will encompass presentations, discussions, and exchanges of views on the challenges currently facing the Public Sector. Corporate governance continues to evolve and extend in Ireland. The guidelines for the Public Sector – ‘Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies’ (2016) is now flanked by the ‘Irish Corporate Governance Code’, published by Euronext last September. Both sectors are now well served by codes of corporate governance. Attendees at the Public Affairs Ireland Seminar will learn about both codes, on Thursday, 12th June, from expert speakers who will be discussing the challenges related to corporate governance. I look forward to chairing the Seminar’.
