Programme Overview

PAI’s NEW comprehensive and hands-on programme, led by a leadership expert, is delivered over two half-day sessions spaced one week apart for staggered learning, and is CPD-aligned to enhance your professional development. Through immersive experiential learning that incorporates interactive sessions and discussions, you will engage with real-world scenarios to deepen your understanding of mentoring principles. Active participation and role-playing with peers will be central to your learning experience.

Throughout this course, you will embark on a journey of self-discovery and acquire skills to maximize the effectiveness of mentoring relationships. You will explore the nuances of the mentoring process, develop effective communication and active listening skills, and learn techniques to inspire, guide, and empower others, all while focusing on knowledge retention and transfer. Topics covered include feedback delivery and and mentoring dynamics, ensuring you can foster a supportive and goal-oriented environment. Additionally, you will identify the key components of a successful mentoring programme, such as establishing boundaries, structuring sessions, and monitoring progress.

This programme goes a step further by emphasising the importance of sponsoring an employee or team member, advocating for their skills and talents, and promoting a culture of positivity. In the context of mentoring and leadership development, sponsoring involves a deeper, more active role than mentoring. While mentoring provides guidance and support, sponsoring means advocating for the mentee and promoting their skills and potential within the organisation. A sponsor uses their influence and network to create opportunities for the mentee, such as recommending them for key projects, promotions, or professional development. This not only helps the mentee advance in their career but also fosters a culture of growth and positivity within the organisation.

This comprehensive approach ensures that learning is achieved, and participants leave feeling confident in their new skills, ready to enhance their professional capabilities and make a significant impact on those they mentor.

Programme Learning Outcomes

• Gain a comprehensive understanding of the mentoring process and different styles of mentoring.
• Develop skills for effective communication, active listening, and providing constructive feedback.
• Understand the importance of maintaining motivation and the impacts on both mentor and mentee.
