This course will examine corporate governance in a public sector context. The aim of this course is to provide grounding on the principles of good public sector corporate governance. These relate to transparency, accountability, responsibility, leadership, integrity and commitment.

The Act will, among other things, require public sector employers and prescribed persons to revise and update their procedures and channels for receiving protected disclosures. In particular, the Act requires that protected disclosures be acknowledged and diligently followed-up on and that feedback be given to the reporting person. The new guidance is intended to support public bodies in meeting their obligations in this regard.

Discovery is a pre-trial process that involves each party disclosing the existence of all documents and inspection of relevant documents that are relevant to legal proceedings. It is the formal process of exchanging information between the parties about the witnesses and evidence they will present at trial. 

PAI’s panel of expert speakers will cover the evaluation tools through a blend of lectures, case-studies and question-and answer sessions. At the end of the seminar, participants will have a good understanding of how the Public Spending Code should be applied in their workplace.

This seminar will outline how organisations can educate their employees to make them aware of these threats and will discuss basic protections and risk management processes to ensure organisations are ready to deal with fraud and security breaches when and if they occur.It will also outline how public sector organisations can improve their security defences and what considerations should be taken into account if a breach occurs, including creating a Risk Management Lifecycle for damage limitation.
