Legal professional privilege protects all communications that occur between a professional legal adviser and their client from being disclosed without the permission of the client.
LPP protects confidential communications and confidential documents between both parties with a view to the legal advisor providing legal services or advice to a client or for use in legal proceedings.
This privilege is designed to protect these confidential discussions and allow the client to communicate freely with their legal advisor and discuss their case in a frank and open manner.
This half day seminar will cover
- An introduction to Legal Professional Privilege
- Freedom of Information, Data Protection, Discovery and Privilege
- Developments in the law of legal professional privilege
- Considerations in the context of investigations
- Assessing the line between legal advice/business unit support
- Practical case studies and examples
