A wide range of people and organisations strive to shaped and influence policy. They include Ministers, civil servants, political parties, public bodies, interest groups, activists, public opinion and the media. For public officials, effective policy-making is especially important as it directly impacts the well-being and future of diverse and vulnerable populations.
This seminar is designed to equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of the policy-making process, highlighting the critical steps, challenges, and best practices involved. It will also cover the conceptualisation and development of policies to the evaluation and consultation stages.

It is increasingly a complex, dynamic, interactive, and demanding process. Policy proposals can come from a variety of sources; from Government Programmes, Court decisions, EU decisions, international obligations, think-tanks and from the public. It is a matter then for Governments to make policy decisions having benefited from the advice of their civil servants and their advisers.
Although the process can vary depending on the context—such as government, business, or non-profit organisations—policy making follows a set of fundamental stages illustrating how ideas evolve from mere concepts into concrete actions that influence communities and nations.
The need to follow-up on policy implementation is particularly important in this era of scarce resources”.
