HRM Supports – Managing HR Investigations

Course Overview

The need for HR investigations can arise from a variety of workplace issues, including disciplinary matters, grievances and dignity at work complaints. It is estimated that 80% of complaints lodged by individuals with the Workplace Relations Commissions are upheld because of a failure by organisations to adhere to fair procedures. This programme will provide participants with an overview and understanding of how to commission, manage and undertake HR investigations in accordance with fair procedures.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this interactive programme, participants will be better able to:

  • Determine when and how a formal investigation should be completed
  • Agree terms of reference (including methodology) for an investigation
  • Ensure adherence to policies and fair procedures (right of information, reply, representation and appeal)
  • Reach conclusions based on the civil burden of proof
  • Manage the outcomes of investigations
  • Implement our trainer’s top tips for managing investigations

Who Should Attend?

This course is designed for HR and employee relations managers who wish to develop their understanding of how to manage and complete investigations.

This programme will also be very useful for managers who have a role in managing or commissioning HR investigations.
