About the seminar
Environmental, social and governance (ESG) is a set of standards for how a company operates in regard to the planet and its people. ESG continues to remain at the top of the global agenda because socially conscious investors now use ESG criteria to screen potential investments.
Organisations need to be accurate and transparent in its accounting and reporting methods from a governance perspective and ESG reporting serves a vital role in providing a snapshot of a company’s performance to support more sustainable investment decisions.
The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), entered into force on January 5th, 2023. EU Member States now have 18 months in which to transpose the directive into law.
The key obligation under CSRD is that it will oblige companies within its scope to include a section in their annual financial statements on specific aspects regarding environment, social and governance (ESG)-related issues. This section of the management report will likely be labelled a “sustainability report”.
This seminar will discuss the area of ESG and the European Sustainability Reporting Standards/ Requirements and will also discuss recent EU legislative updates to include the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD).
