Public bodies must reduce fossil fuel use and other environmental impacts\, adopt green procurement scoring\, and manage environmental information responsibly\, all while meeting national and EU regulatory obligations. \nJoin us for an in-depth online seminar that will equip you with the tools to drive sustainable development and reduce environmental impact in public procurement. This course will provide a comprehensive introduction to Green Public Procurement and will outline the key features of Sustainable Public Procurement and the Circular Economy while referring to the relevant sources of aligning legislation and circulars (to include the Climate Action and Low Carbon Development (Amendment) Act 2021 and GPP Criteria Circular 17/2025). \nWhilst Circulars 17/2025 and 14/2024 have drawn a lot of attention recently\, public procurement remains a powerful market force\, with an estimated spend of €1.8trillion across the EU accounting for 14% of EU GPP in Ireland public procurement accounts for 10-12% of GDP. \nGreen Public Procurement offers public bodies a means to lead sustainable development in their sector\, engaging suppliers to reduce the environmental impacts across their product and service life cycles; developing the circular economy and reducing costs to Public Bodies. \n  \nLearning Outcomes: \nOn completion of this training\, participants will be able to: \n\nReview their organisations’ environmental impacts at a high level\nFocus limited resources on areas of significance\nApply GPP Guidelines to scoring and specification\nUnderstand circularity and its opportunities for cost saving\nMeasure the impacts\, to continually improve\n\n  \nThis seminar will show you how to harness the power of green procurement to reduce environmental impacts across the product and service life cycles\, supporting the development of the circular economy.
