About this Workshop
The COVID19 pandemic has changed the world of work, and we have seen large scale adaptation to remote working in the public sector in the past two years. This has created opportunities for organisations to improve diversity, as many jobs are no longer determined by place of work. However, research highlights that the pandemic has had a negative impact on equality, in particular for under-represented and marginalised groups. The need to create inclusive cultures, value diversity and ensure equality are critical for recovery in the changing world of work. This 2-hour training workshop provides insights and practical guidance to help leaders and HR managers build equality, diversity and inclusions (ED&I) in their organisations.
‘Inclusion and diversity are at risk in the crisis – but are critical for business recovery, resilience and reimagination’ (Dolan, K, Hunt, V, Prince, S and Sancier-Sultan, S (2020): Diversity still matters, Mc Kinsey Quarterly)
- Why do we need to focus on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion EDI?
- How do we build it into an Organisation
- Ensuring Equality – An Overview of Legal Obligations (including the Employment Equality acts 1998-2015 + the Public Sector Equality and Human Rights Duty)
- Understanding Diversity and Unconscious Bias
- Building and Improving EDI across the Employee Lifecycle
- Developing an Inclusive Culture through Collective Leadership and Engagement
Organisations that fail to provide inclusive flexible working opportunities will struggle to recruit, motivate and retain the workers they need and find it challenging to boost diversity and inclusion. (CIPD)
