Ensuring Equality in Recruitment and Selection
The Employment Equality Acts 1998–2015 outlaw discrimination on nine grounds – age, gender, family status, civil status, disability, religion, race and sexual orientation. Organisations must ensure that the planning, delivery and assessment of selection interviews complies with these legal requirements. The financial and reputational consequences of not complying with law are significant. Freedom of information legislation also requires organisations to provide job applicants with the right to be given reasons for decisions taken by public bodies that affect them. This training workshop will equip participants with the knowledge and skills they need to ensure equality in the interview selection process. The workshop is delivered through a range of practical exercises and case studies.
