SUMMARY:Taking Climate into Account – The Corporate Governance of Environmental Sustainability
DESCRIPTION:Seminar Overview\nThe Climate Action Plan 2025 (CAP25) represents the third statutory annual update to Ireland’s Climate Action Plan under the Climate Action and Low Carbon Development (Amendment) Act 2021. \n  \nBuilding upon the Climate Action Plan 2024\, “the Plan lays out a roadmap of actions which will ultimately lead us to meeting our national climate objective of pursuing and achieving\, by no later than the end of the year 2050\, the transition to a climate resilient\, biodiversity rich\, environmentally sustainable and climate neutral economy. It aligns with the legally binding economy-wide carbon budgets and sectoral emissions ceilings that were agreed by Government in July 2022”. \n  \nThis seminar will explore how organisations are integrating environmental sustainability into their governance structures and strategic decision-making. This work examines the evolving role of boards of directors\, executives\, and shareholders in addressing climate-related risks and opportunities. It will also highlight best practices for aligning corporate governance frameworks with global sustainability goals (environmental\, social and governance – ESG)\, regulatory expectations\, and stakeholder demands. \n  \nBy focusing on accountability\, transparency\, and long-term value creation\, the seminar will highlight the critical importance of governance in driving meaningful environmental action and corporate climate responsibility. \n  \nKey Discussion Topics\n\nAn update on Ireland’s Climate Action Plan – where do we currently stand in terms of roadmap actions\nThe Economics of Climate Change and the Cost of Sustainability\nSustainability Reporting Standards – Promoting ESG\, Embedding Ethics and Avoiding Deception\nSustainable Corporate Governance – The EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) on ESG\n\n  \nIntended Audience\nBoard Members and Directors\, C-Suite Executives (CEOs\, COOs)\, Sustainability and ESG Officers\, Risk and Compliance Officers \n  \nMultiple Delegate Discount\n\n3+ Delegates – 5% Discount\n5+ Delegates – 10% Discount\n10+ Delegates – 15% Discount\n\nTo avail of our multiple delegate discount for 3 or more delegates\, you must email registrations@pai.ie with the name and details of all those you wish to book.
