SUMMARY:Climate Action Leadership Training
DESCRIPTION:Day 1: Thursday\, September 24th | Day 2: Thursday\, October 1st \nTimes: 9.30am – 1.00pm both days \nAbout the seminar\nPAI’s Climate Action Leadership Training has been meticulously developed to align with the Irish government’s Climate Action Plan 2023 (CAP23) which is the second annual update to Ireland’s strategic approach to climate action since the inception of the Climate Action Plan in 2019. \nIn May 2023\, the Government endorsed the Public Sector Climate Action Mandate 2023\, a critical component outlined in Chapter 10 of the Climate Action Plan 2023\, emphasising the leadership role of the public sector in driving climate action. \nThis training outline is directly tied to Mandate requirement 2.5\, which mandates that all senior management personnel (PO level or equivalent and above) complete a Climate Action Leadership Training course. \nMoving forward\, the Climate Action Plan 2024 (CAP24) represents the third annual update to Ireland’s evolving climate action strategy. Government approval of the Plan on 20 December 2023\, subject to Strategic Environmental Assessment and Appropriate Assessment\, highlights its strategic importance. Notable enhancements include the addition of a dedicated chapter on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)\, facilitating a comprehensive assessment of each Plan chapter’s impact on SDG targets. \nLearning Outcomes\nUtilising the directives outlined in CAP23\, this Climate Action Leadership Training is structured into four comprehensive modules\, each delving into key areas of climate action and leadership to include: \nClimate Fundamentals \n\nRecognise the specific impacts of climate change on Ireland’s environment and society\nExplore innovative technologies driving climate action\n\n Climate Governance\, Adaptation\, and Just Transition \n\nUnderstand EU and Irish climate targets\, legislation\, and policies\nLearn about the Public Sector Climate Action Mandate and strategies for effective implementation\n\n Climate Leadership \n\nIdentify the unique challenges of climate leadership\nUnderstand the importance of effective communication and stakeholder engagement in driving climate action\nDevelop skills for leading transformative change in response to climate challenges\n\nESG Reporting \n\nUnderstand the principles of Environmental\, Social\, and Governance (ESG) reporting\nLearn how to integrate climate considerations into project delivery and finance decisions\n\nWho Should Attend?\nAll senior management personnel (PO level or equivalent and above) are mandated to complete Climate Action Leadership Training under the Climate Action Plan. \n  \nMultiple Delegate Discount \nLimited Places Available – book early to avoid disappointment. \n\n3+ Delegates – 5% Discount\n5+ Delegates – 10% Discount\n10+ Delegates – 15% Discount\n\nTo avail of our multiple delegate discount for 3 or more delegates\, you must email registrations@pai.ie with the name and details of all those you wish to book.
