This course aims to equip Freedom of Information (FOI) officers with the skills, knowledge and competencies to be able to fulfil their role by taking a pragmatic approach and focusing on practical FOI tasks and essential law, rules and guidelines, as opposed to theory.
This course will examine corporate governance in a public sector context. The aim of this course is to provide grounding on the principles of good public sector corporate governance. These relate to transparency, accountability, responsibility, leadership, integrity and commitment.
The Data Protection (DP) Law Enforcement Directive, or ‘LED’, is a piece of EU legislation, parallel to the GDPR, which also has effect from May 2018. As suggested by its name, the LED deals with the processing of personal data by data controllers for ‘law enforcement purposes’ – which falls outside of the scope of the GDPR.
