Would you like your writing to get noticed for all the right reasons – because it’s strong, clear, concise and polished? Would you like to feel confident that your writing will achieve its objectives and reach its target audiences?
The half-day workshop covers the fundamentals of good business writing skills, using a variety of materials for practical exercises (emails, reports etc.). It covers the principals of planning, how to create a reader-focused style, the power of language, and common errors of grammar and punctuation. It will also look at the benefits of using plain English and a readability test for communicating with the public.
Writing ability is highlighted in the PMDS competency development framework under Communication Skills and Customer Service.
After completing this workshop, attendees will:
- Feel confident that they can create strong, readable, and polished documents
- Be able to write clearly and concisely
- Understand how to create an effective plan
- Be able to write a first draft quickly
- Understand the benefits of using plain English and a readability test
- Be able to recognise and correct common errors of grammar and punctuation
