This half-day online seminar Climate Commitments and Developing Housing for All will offer participants a timely update on progress made within the housing, planning and development sector. Attendees will also gain insights into actions achieved through the implementation of new, innovative ways of approaching planning and development from a carbon conscious perspective.
With housing hitting headlines daily and an ever-rising concern regarding the climate crises, this half day seminar will discuss key challenges facing planning & development stakeholders in achieving governments climate commitments.
The EU’s commitment to develop a 2050 roadmap for reducing whole lifecycle carbon emissions along with our governments mandate on immediate climate action, has greatly impacted planning policy and will continue to take priority in the planning, procurement, and development of new and regenerated buildings.
This seminar will explore the benefits and challenges of building climate resistant policy into development plans.
Topics covered include:
- brown field v’ green field sites,
- embodied carbon,
- operational emissions,
- the circular economy and environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), and
- prioritising whole life carbon neutrality for new and existing buildings.
