
Course Outline
Gain the foundational knowledge you need to award and monitor your grants and cooperative agreements effectively from pre-award through to project closeout. This 3-day online course is designed for employees of Government bodies that award and/or oversee grants and cooperative agreements, including grants management specialists, grants officials, project officers, governance officials and procurement professionals, will benefit from this course. The granting of funds by Irish Government Agencies provides a supporting role to Irish small and medium entities in both the commercial and not-for-profit sector in Ireland.
Organisations that award grants enter into a range of commitments and obligations that, if not properly managed, could critically hinder both the awarding body and the recipient organisation in achieving its goals. These organisations that are tasked with the responsibility of assessing and selecting organisations for grant approval and often face challenges in ensuring the project goals are met. Therefore, managing a framework of supports and preparation for the receiving entity can ultimately ensure successful project roll out.
This course will assist granting bodies establish proper requirements for ensuring the funding received is used for the purposes intended by the receiving agency/ organisation, and that proper records and reporting structures are maintained throughout the grant life cycle. Developed and delivered by a highly skilled panel of trainers who are leading experts in their fields of finance, law, accounting and economics.

Learning Outcomes
This three day training course provides a governance and financial management toolkit that ensures attendees leave with the practical knowledge and skills to effectively project manage the allocation of grant aid, properly guide and evaluate the spend and control of monies issued through periodical status reporting and post project evaluation.
Over the course of this training students will be afforded the opportunity to engage in group discussions and participate in focused exercises and case study analysis all facilitated by our expert speakers.
