Sarah Glennie has been appointed as the new Director of the Irish Museum of Modern Art. Ms Gennie is currently Director of the Irish Film Institute (IFI). Prior to joining the IFI in 2008, she was Artistic Director of the Model Arts and Niland Gallery in Sligo. She has also curated many other notable visual art projects, both in Ireland and internationally.
Chairperson of IMMA, Eoin McGonigal, said: “Everyone at IMMA is delighted to have secured as the Museum’s new Director someone with such an impressive record of achievement in the arts, more especially the visual arts.” He also paid tribute to the outgoing Director, Enrique Juncosa.
