Ms Emily O’Reilly, Information Commissioner formally launched the Freedom of Information Sourcebook on Thursday last.
The 2011 edition of the FOI Sourcebook was compiled by Catherine Allen, partner in the Administrative and Public Law Unit of Mason Hayes & Curran and Lisa Joyce, Solicitor in the Public Law and Administrative Litigation Department at Mason Hayes & Curran and published by Public Affairs Ireland.

The new edition of the Sourcebook has been comprehensively updated to include recent judgments, guidance notes and decisions of the Information Commissioner. It provides a comprehensive guide to the legislation underpinning FOI and contains a consolidated and annotated version of the 1997 and 2003 Acts. It also shows any changes made and contains supplementary guidance notes and guidelines, including Central Policy Unit notices. Additionally all relevant decisions of the Information Commissioner and court judgments that impact on particular sections of the legislation are contained in the FOI Sourcebook.
