The Commission on Credit Unions, established by the Government in June last, has announced the launch of its public consultation process.

The Commission was established to review the future of the credit union movement and make recommendations in relation to the most effective regulatory structure for credit unions.

The Commission is particularly keen to receive submission from interested parties with views on the role of credit unions, their current operating model, shared services, financial inclusion, governance standards and regulatory requirements.

Interested parties can make a submission up until 25 August, 2011.
