One of the primary changes contained within the Bill with be the implementation of a system of post codes in Ireland. The Bill will provide the legal footing for a ‘universal postage service’ resulting in delivery service every working day to every address in the State. An post will also be appointed as universal postal service provider.
The Bill will be discussed at Committee Stage at a meeting of the recently established Oireachtas Committee on Communications, Natural Resources and Agriculture which is chaired by Andrew Doyle.
