The Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources released the following statement:

The Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, Pat Carey has announced that in response to applications received on May 31 2010 from Shell E&P Ireland Limited (SEPIL), acting on behalf of the Corrib Gas Partners, that permission has been granted, subject to conditions:

• for consent to construct a gas pipeline from the Corrib gas field subsea facilities to the Corrib gas terminal at Bellanaboy, Co Mayo; and
• for approval of an addendum to the Plan of Development for the Corrib gas field development.
