This coming Wednesday, May 6 2015, Public Affairs Ireland will host a conference on the Innovations in Dispute Resolution.

With stories such as the Dunnes Stores dispute1, and today’s country-wide bus strike2, the conference is timely and important. Speakers will examine the roles and functions of Workplace Relations Commission and expanded Labour Court in the wake of the legislative reform under the Workplace Relations Bill 2014; special attention will be paid to the implications of this for Human Resources and Industrial Relations practitioners. The conference aims to inform attendees on how practitioners can use these new approaches to achieve resolution of disputes in the workplace.

Speakers will include the Chief Executive of the Workplace Relations Commission, Kieran Mulvey, and the Deputy Chair of the Labour Court, Caroline Jenkinson. Academics from UCD, Prof Bill Roche, John O’Dowd and Treasa Kenny (also of Burtenshaw Kenny Associates) will also be presenting on the day. Head of SIPTU’s Membership Information and Support Centre (MISC), Tom O’Driscoll and Principal of Workplace Solutions Pat Brady will also be speaking.

The conference will take place in The Westin Hotel, Dublin 2. For more information, or to attend, please contact PAI on 018198500, or on our website.
