Mr Donie O’Leary has been appointed to the Board of the National Disability Authority to fill a vacancy which arose as a result of the resignation of Dr Tony Bates.
Mr O’Leary has previously worked with PwDI, Cork Local Drugs Task Force and the National Drugs Strategy Group and Cork Community Development Institute. He is currently employed by Cork City Partnership as Disability Officer for the Cork City area.
The position took effect on January 21 and the term of office will run until December 20 2013. The appointee may then be eligible to serve for a second term of four years.
