The Minister for Health, James Reilly TD has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Chinese Minister for Health, Mr Chen ZHU, on health co-operation.

The MOU, described by Minister Reilly as a “valuable basis for developing relations and initiatives in the field of health between Ireland and China”, outlines a number of areas of cooperation including health regulation; e-Health and telemedicine; medical professional training; health promotion; maternal and child health; hospital standards and traditional Chinese Medicine.

The MOU, signed today as part of Minister Reilly’s his official visit to the People’s Republic of China, renews a previous MOU which had been in place between 2004 and 2009.
